I never ever post reviews, but in this case I felt compelled to. Long story though. I took my car into Honest 1 due to the ABS light periodically coming on, forcing a decrease of speed to 25-30 MPH, and the inability to excel. All were happening at the same time. The technician I dealt with was named John, and he was the foreman of the shop. After running a diagnotic on the vehicle, the car came back clean except a historical code that was essentially misinterpreted as a current existing code/error, and I was told there was a recall pertaining to the code/error. I then took my car to the dealership and gave them the paperwork that showed the code/error, and the dealership mentioned there was no outstanding recall. I took the car back to honest 1 since I already had a diagnostic done. John realized incorrect information had been provided to me (which prompted me to go to the dealership) and also had no starting point to troubleshoot the issue, since there was essentially no current code/error, only that something happened at one time. He did experience what I was experiencing while test-driving, which helped him diagnose. He actually discovered the issue. What he found was that a signal wire for a lack of a better word was spliced and soldered into a plug that connected to the ECU. It most likely occurred when a recall was performed by the dealership for a steering coupler recall. The dealership technician most likely caused the wire to be cut and or pulled out of the plug, then rigged it back into the plug without replacing the entire wire harness throughout the dashboard, which is quite expensive to do and without telling me the owner. The dealership technician covered up a serious and potentially dangerous situation for me and other drivers. Did I mention no other work has been done to this vehicle by anyone, let alone in the same location where the problem was discovered, other than an oil change or a few recalls performed by the dealership. Honest 1 has won my loyalty as a customer going forward for several more years. From the get-go, John was courteous, professional, transparent and went way above and beyond to fix the problem. Most of all, he displayed integrity, which is rare. In all my years of going to various mechanics, John and Honest 1 have set the bar high.
